The NHS recommends 150 min of moderate intensity activity a week or 75 mins of vigorously intense exercise a week. The report also says we should look to reduce the amount of time we are still (1).

The Chief Medical Officer has warned that another pandemic as big as COVID is a certainty (2). Respiratory disorders do seem to increase the chances of having troublesome back(3), neck and shoulder pains (4). Highlighting just how important the way one regularly breathes is to the health of the spine, muscle balance, joint health and posture. The way we breathe can be affected by anxiety, mood, environment, exercise duration and intensity. During meditation breathing is often the focus to enable a relaxation mood to occur.

Fascia First Chiropractic

Having awareness of the way one breathes is complementary to receiving regular Chiropractic Adjustments as part of living healthy.

Function Better, Feel Better

When you first imagine getting regular check ups, I’m sure you didn’t expect to have your breathing (FEV) assessed (5). Breathing is vital to life, yet life can insidiously change where and how one breathes in their body. The beauty about being a Chiropractor is that I can demonstrate to my customers how their breathing imbalance affects spinal posture leading to strain, sprains and spasm experiences.
