Tension(s), Dysfunction and Compensations

Body movement is possible because of muscles and joints, which work together in harmony (or a pattern or a sequence) to produce movements. Movement itself can be strong, full range and return to relaxed as an ideal. Movement is a function of muscles and joints working together.

Dysfunction of muscles and joints can occur following injury, illness, infection, tension(s) and even missed exercise sessions. Dysfunction is where muscles and joints do not work well together, a subsequent weakness ensues. Weakness can cause the body to compensate. It is through compensation that muscles and joints are trying to restore function, but when unsuccessful a compensation can replace original function. A level of dysfunction where the body is normally compensated.

Over time tension(s) and strains accumulate dysfunction in the body. Continued tension(s) deform muscular shape, altering function, resulting in abnormal patterns of movement. Creating an additional layer of dysfunction within the body on top of the normally compensated layer.

Impulses facilitate normal loading helping the body to heal, re-find original function and reduce accumulated tension(s).
