What is Accumulation?

Have you ever noticed that your back seems to “act up” right when life gets busy, uncertain, or stressful? A house move, a new job, a relationship shift, even positive changes like starting a new routine — suddenly the muscles tighten, the ache creeps in, or an old injury decides to make a comeback.

This isn’t mysterious, and it’s definitely not a sign that your psyche is weak or your spine is damaged. What you’re feeling is your nervous system reacting to change,

When we go through change — even a good one — the body switches into a higher alert state because life has become unpredictable. Firing up hormones like cortisol, making your experience of being you change too. Such as you breathe in more than you breath out, sleep challenges, appetite changes, body stiffness, muscular tension and joint soreness.

When tension and uncertainty combine in your life, the ‘complaints department’ run by your spine gets into full swing. It’s where we store protective muscle tone (helpful at first then soon hinders), It is when you’ve had protective muscle tone long enough (3weeks) to become normal. At this point increased muscular tone no longer serves you, symptoms die back and you find yourself in a new state of being you.

Accumulation
Slowly it Builds Up

If we multiply this experience over a decade or two, you might realise why your body is sore, why sleep is poor, why anxiety looms. This is accumulation, adding together your stress responses over time and your nervous system adapting into the new heightened state of normal for you each time.

Whilst the world around you has returned to predictable structure (hopefully!) Accumulation means your brain and body have not. Lee looks to help muscular tension, muscular balance, joint centring and bodily strength, that over the years have been affected by Life.
