If you’re between 35 and 55, have never been to a chiropractor before, and you’re mildly intrigued but quietly skeptical, you’re not alone.
You might be wondering if it works or maybe you’ve heard about people who went once and were told they’d need three sessions a week for the rest of their lives. Understandably, that could feel… awkward!

Let’s clear something up.
Your nervous system—the bit of you that tells your body how to move, feel, and function—isn’t all that different from a houseplant. Stay with me.
Plants absorb water. Your nervous system absorbs sensory input. Both of them respond and adapt to their environments. And like a plant, your body builds its average state over time—based on how it’s treated, moved, nourished, and yes, adjusted.
So imagine a thirsty plant. You water it, and it perks up. Fantastic! But if you walk away and don’t water it again for another month, it wilts. The same goes for your spine. A one-off session might feel great and it may feel like it works for you. However, old patterns, habits, postures and those ubiquitous tensions return…
That doesn’t mean something’s (medically) wrong, or that you’ve been “sold” something. It just means your body functions on accumulated input, not one-off fixes.
Here at Fascia First Chiropractic, we’re not interested in locking you into endless appointments. We’re interested in helping you understand your body, respond to what it’s telling you, and make healthy choices about your Chiropractic. Care.
After all, nobody waters their plants once, expecting a prize winner.
