The hours you spend moving your body through exercise directly correlates with an improvement in your lifespan. Having a mobile body is life giving.
The most significant reductions in all-cause and cardiovascular mortality were seen in those engaging in up to 4.5 hours of exercise a week (1). Over 10 hours of exercise a week resulted in an increase in mortality risk. So there is a ceiling to the benefits seen. Even small amounts of exercise are beneficial. Generally speaking the more active you are up to the ceiling, the better your outcome
The ideal amount of exercise is not too little and not too much, meaning there is a zone of best benefits. This zone is termed the “Goldilocks Zone”. If ‘Goldilocks’ had to recommend to the bears, she’d say ‘5 hours a week of moderately intense activity’ (1). This zone has also been termed the training zone.
Knowing movement is life, can be all the more frustrating when your body is stiff and uncomfortable. However, the tensions and strains of life, injuries old and new can be combatted with Chiropractic.
Helping you have a body that is amenable to taking part in exercise is an important piece of the healthy me puzzle.
If athletes utilise Chiropractors to reduce their injury rates, recover faster and get better performance (2,3,4) then why shouldn’t every body?!
